FIP Seal

The FIP Seal

In 2021, we undertook a consultation to assure the quality of professional development and training programmes and their alignment with FIP’s mission, aims and the Development Goals through experts in the area, rather than FIP undertaking Quality Assurance itself. The overall quality and alignment of a programme is recognised by the FIP Seal. In addition, FIP has developed criteria for accrediting bodies of pharmacy education, which recognises the quality and alignment of these agencies.

Applications for the FIP Seal are overseen by the FIP Consortium. The Consortium reports directly to the FIP Bureau for ratification of its recommendations on the FIP Seal.

The FIP Seal for programmes

The FIP Seal for programmes is awarded to professional development programmes and courses (including Continuing Professional Development (CPD), Continuing education (CE) and postgraduate courses) and provides a visible signal of the alignment of a provider of programmes with the FIP mission to advance pharmacy worldwide. It also provides an external signal of solidarity and trust as the provider of programmes assures quality of their programmes and courses through a self-assessment criteria. The FIP Seal supports potential providers of programmes to self-assess their programmes against a global framework. This provides assurance for FIP member organisations with needs (for professional development opportunities) intending to access their programmes. FIP provides a platform to enable its member organisations to work productively with providers of programmes (with the FIP Seal). This supports the identification, sharing and adoption of good practice across pharmacy world-wide. This is a systematic approach to identifying and recognising criteria for delivery of programmes to support professional development of pharmacists worldwide.

The FIP Seal for accrediting agencies

The FIP Seal for accrediting agencies provides a visible signal of the alignment of an accreditation agency with the FIP mission to advance pharmacy worldwide. This FIP Seal supports accreditation agencies to self-assess their accreditation services against a global framework. This provides assurance for other organisations intending to access their accreditation services. These agencies deliver accreditation of education programmes or accreditation of education providers and support the identification, sharing and adoption of good practices across pharmacy world-wide.

The FIP Seal for accrediting agencies is awarded to agencies that self-assess their services against the global framework for pharmacy advancement and the FIP Development Goals. By undertaking the FIP Seal self-assessment, agencies will detail how their activity is clearly aligned to global values on professional development and progress in pharmacy, any of the FIP Development Goals, the FIP global commitment to the Astana Declaration, and our transformation programmes.

The FIP seal for accrediting agencies is awarded to accreditation bodies of pharmacy education and training. More information can be found in the Handbook for accrediting agencies.
